FRIENDSHIP AS SELF-CARE

Connection is restorative. When life gets busy, the first thing to drop off the calendar is usually time with friends. But social connection isn’t a luxury; it’s a vital part of self-care for busy women. True friendship is a form of stress relief, offering, perspective, laughter and support. Let’s make catching up with a friend a non-negotiable part of your midlife balance this week.
The 'Micro-Connect' Practice: If you can’t schedule a dinner, send three unique, personal voicemails to friends this week. Don’t text - speak! Hearing a friendly voice provides a boost of connection in less than 60 seconds, without requiring a massive time commitment.

Mindful Minis

Mindful Fidget Fix
Enjoy a snack of pistachios or sunflower seeds. The act of shelling them forces a small, mindful break and is a great way to relieve fidgety energy.

Social App Folder
Use a dedicated “Social” folder on your phone homepage Put all your social media apps inside it so you have to consciously open the folder instead of reflexively clicking app icon.

Foot Tension Release
Give yourself a 1-minute foot massage using a tennis ball. Roll your foot gently over the ball while seated to release tension stored in your feet and throughout your body.
